Do I Need a MIAM Before Filing Form A?

Yes. If you are applying for a financial order using Form A, you must attend a MIAM unless you qualify for an exemption. A sole MIAM with me satisfies this requirement, and your signed certificate is issued within 24 hours.

What Can Financial Mediation Cover?

Financial mediation can address all aspects of your financial separation, including:

How Does Financial Mediation Work?

The process typically involves:

1. Individual MIAMs — Each of you attends a separate assessment meeting.
2. Financial disclosure — You both provide full and honest information about your finances. This is essential and legally required.
3. Joint mediation sessions — We meet together (in person or online) to discuss options and negotiate agreement.
4. Memorandum of Understanding — Once agreement is reached, I draft a summary for your solicitor to turn into a legally binding Consent Order.

How Long Does Financial Mediation Take?

Most financial cases require 3 to 5 joint sessions, depending on complexity. The entire process typically takes 8 to 12 weeks — significantly faster than court proceedings.

Cost of Financial Mediation

A sole MIAM is £100 per person. Joint financial mediation sessions are £180 per person per hour. I offer transparent, fixed-fee pricing with no hidden costs.
